Improving the Management of a Semi-Arid Agricultural Ecosystem through Digital Mapping of Soil Properties: The Case of Salamanca (Spain)

Soil protection and the increase intensification of agricultural production require detailed knowledge soil properties their variability. On other hand, complexity associated with traditional mapping processes can lead to implementation inappropriate practices that degrade this resource. Therefore, it is necessary use techniques provide more information farmers managers. In study, geostatistical technique ordinary kriging was used map distribution most important edaphic (texture, nutrients content -N, P, K-, pH, organic carbon, water retention, COLE, carbonate content, cation exchange capacity) from known sampled points, which allows inferring value different parameters studied along fields. The results obtained show after validation analysis semivariograms suitable for evaluating main on a large scale, since faithfully reflects makes tool method optimizing resources available in processes. addition, these distributions made possible establish recommendations improving management ecosystem, will guarantee higher yield as well better analyzed soils.
